Silver Jewellery Making Workshop
Unleash your creativity and craft your own stunning silver jewellery in this hands-on workshop designed for both beginners and enthusiasts. Guided by a professional jeweller, you’ll learn the essentials of metalworking, all while creating your own custom set of earrings.
The workshop will be taught by the exceptionally talented Gabriel Farrugia. A skilled artisan with a Bachelor of Arts in Jewellery Design from the renowned IED – Istituto Europeo di Design, Gabriel brings a wealth of expertise in sculpture, silverware, jewellery, and other artisanal creations. Gabriel’s mastery in design has earned him recognition for his latest work: the crown for the solemn coronation of Our Lady of Fatima in Guardamangia, Malta—a piece both designed and crafted by him.
What You’ll Learn:
Explore Different Types of Silver: Discover the various types of silver used in jewellery-making, including the different grades and types of silver.
Materials & Tools of the Craft: Gain insights into the materials used, such as silver plates, and learn how to work with them effectively to bring your design to life.You'll also become familiar with essential tools used during jewellery making.
Learn Essential Techniques:
Cutting: Learn how to precisely cut your design using a jeweller's saw.
Filing & Refining: Refine the edges of your piece with a file for a smooth finish.
Soldering: Discover the art of soldering and how to join metal pieces seamlessly.
Texturing & Decoration: Add texture and intricate designs to make your piece unique.
Pin Attachment: Learn how to incorporate and solder pins for earrings or other functional elements.
Polishing: Finish your piece by polishing it to a professional shine.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a beautiful, custom-made piece of silver jewellery that you can proudly wear and show off—along with the skills to create even more.
No prior experience is needed! Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to refine your existing skills, our professional jeweller will guide you through every step. Groups are kept small.
