The Pottery & Ceramic Glazing Course for Beginners (Adults) is specially designed for beginners who are eager to dive into the world of clay and glazing.
What You'll Learn:
Pottery Techniques: Master fundamental techniques such as hand-building, coiling, slab work, and pinching to create unique clay pieces.
Surface Decoration: Experiment with textures, patterns, and decorative methods to enhance the look of your creations.

Course Details
Mode of Study: Once weekly (2 hours per lesson)
Duration: 10 Lessons
Location:Art Academy Mosta (131 Constitution Street, Mosta, Malta)
Requirements: Students will need to bring their own pottery supplies. Kiln firing are not included in the price and need to be purchased seperately.* 16+ students only
What’s Included: Rolling pins, wood panel, hands-on teaching, individual attention
Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be given a Certificate of Attendance
Language: The course is taught in English

Art Materials – Children will experiment with different art materials like poster paint, watercolour paint, clay, crayons, coloured pencils, and collage to bring their ideas to life.
Techniques & Skills – Through hands-on activities, they will learn colour theory, mixed media layering, wax resist, sculpting with clay, printmaking, and brushwork to develop their artistic confidence.
Themed Lessons – Each session is inspired by holidays, history, famous artists, and diverse cultures, introducing young learners to the beauty and meaning behind different artistic styles.
Small-Group Learning – With limited class sizes, our experienced tutors provide individual attention, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment.

Location: Art Academy Mosta (Art Academy, 131, Constitution Street, Mosta) or Art Academy Zurrieq (88, Triq Matteolo Saliba, Zurrieq)
What’s Included: Hands-on teaching, individual attention
Requirements: Students will need to bring their own art materials (excluding poster paint and disposable palette which will be provided by Art Academy)
Age Requirement: To be able to attend this course, it is vital that students are between 6 to 8 years at the time of attending the course or are turning 6 during the course. Younger or older students will not be accepted.
Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance

Tax Deduction on Fees paid for Cultural and Creative Courses:
Parents of children under 16 who attended any Cultural or Creative courses at Art Academy are eligible for a tax deduction scheme of up to a maximum of €300 for each child. Parents are entitled to claim a deduction against their chargeable income of up to a maximum of €300 for each child.
You don't need to do anything, we will apply for you after the completion of the course.
The Sewing Course for Beginners is the perfect introduction for anyone eager to dive into the world of sewing. Whether you're looking to create clothing for yourself or just enjoy the creative process, this course covers both hand stitching and machine sewing techniques.
What You’ll Learn
Understand Sewing Tools: Learn about the essential tools and materials needed for sewing and their specific purposes.
Master Basic Hand Stitches: Start with the fundamentals of hand stitching, including basic stitches like running stitch, backstitch, and slip stitch.
Get Comfortable with the Sewing Machine: Familiarize yourself with your sewing machine’s parts and understand how to properly use it for a variety of projects.
Learn Machine Stitches: Explore different machine stitches and understand their uses for different types of fabrics and projects.
Select Fabrics with Confidence: Gain knowledge about different types of fabrics and how to choose the right fabric for your project.
Read Sewing Patterns: Learn how to read and understand sewing patterns, which are essential for following patterns to create your clothing.
Assemble Your First Project: Gain hands-on experience with fabric cutting, pinning, and assembling pieces, with your main project being creating a skirt from start to finish.
Finish Your Project with Confidence: Learn how to apply finishing techniques such as hemming and adding closures (like zippers or buttons) to complete your garment.
This course is ideal for complete beginners who have zero experience in sewing and would like to learn how to sew clothes at home. The course is designed to be hands-on and accessible, with small class sizes (maximum of 8 students) to ensure individual attention and guidance.

Language: The course is taught in English
In the case the case that due to unforeseen circumstances that the teacher is unavailable, the course will shift by a week.
