Sewing Course for Beginners
What could be more rewarding than wearing an item of clothing that you have created yourself? The ‘Sewing Course for Beginners’ is specially designed for total beginners eager to explore the art of sewing through both hand stitching and machine use.
What Will You Learn:
Tools: The tools and materials you will need for sewing, and why.
Basic Hand Stitches
Sewing Machine Basics: Understand the parts of your sewing machine, and how to use it.
Machine Stitches
Fabric Selection: Gain knowledge about different types of fabrics and how to select the right one for your project.
Pattern Reading: Learn how to read and interpret sewing patterns.
Project Assembly: Develop skills in cutting fabric, pinning, and assembling various parts, with the main project focusing on creating a skirt from start to finish.
Finishing Touches: Master finishing techniques such as hemming and adding closures.
Who is this Course for?
This course is targeted for those who are complete beginners, with zero experience in sewing, who would like to learn how to sew clothes from home. Groups are kept small, to a maximum of 8 students.
Course Details
Mode of Study: Once weekly (2 hours per lesson)
Duration: 10 Lessons
Location: Art Academy Mosta (131, Constitution Street, Mosta)
Requirements: Students will need to bring their own sewing supplies, including a sewing machine. Ages 16+.
What’s Included: Hands-on teaching, individual attention
Certification: Upon attendance of 80% of the Course, students will be given a Certificate of Attendance
Language: The course is taught in English
