Children's Stop Motion Animation Workshop (Ages 10+)
Discover the magic of stop motion animation in this hands-on workshop designed for teens! Whether you're a budding filmmaker or just curious about animation, this session will teach you the fundamentals of bringing objects to life through stop motion.
What is Stop Motion Animation?
Stop motion is an animation technique where objects are moved in small increments between individually photographed frames. When played in sequence, these images create the illusion of motion. This technique is used in filmmaking to animate clay figures, paper cutouts, puppets, or everyday objects. Stop motion brings creativity to life, allowing artists to tell stories frame by frame.
What You’ll Learn:
The key elements that make a stop motion animation work.
Brainstorming a story using simple objects.
Understanding the challenges and limitations of stop motion.
Setting up a scene, background, and lighting for the best visual effect.
Capturing a series of shots to create smooth motion.
Using accessible stop motion software to compile and animate your film.
